For us working at Black Moose Outposts, it is not just a job—it is our way of life! Our team is made up of people who love the outdoors, the thrill of adventure, and the beauty of the wild. Whether flying, fishing, hunting or guiding, we are all here because we are extremely passionate about what we do. For our bush pilots, this is their dream, as there is nothing quite like flying over endless lakes and forests, landing in some of the most remote and beautiful country on earth. Bush flying is more than just a skill—it is an art, and there is no better way to experience it than with Black Moose Outposts. To our local hunting guides, who grew up exploring these woods and waters, guiding feels natural. Sharing their knowledge and love for the land with guests, is something they are deeply passionate about and proud to do. Watching guests experience the magic of remote North-West Ontario and getting their moose is extremely rewarding for them. At the center of it all is Nate Herbert, the owner and visionary behind Black Moose Outposts. Nate grew up where the road ends in Red Lake, deep in the beautiful and rugged wilderness. He has always been drawn to adventure, whether flying, fishing, hunting, or exploring the backcountry. As a seasoned bush pilot, passionate angler, and hunter, Nate has a deep connection to this exhilarating untamed land. In 2021, Nate turned his passion into a vision: the region’s first high-end fly-in fishing and hunting resort. Here, guests can stay and travel in comfort, while surrounded by breathtaking lakes, untouched wilderness, and everything else the North has to offer. For those of us lucky enough to work here, it is more than a workplace, it is a chance to live the life we love, surrounded by the remote wilderness we call home.
