Camp Housekeeper and General labourer

As a Camp Housekeeper and General labourer at Black Moose Outposts, you will assist the Resort Manager in providing exceptional housekeeping and environmental services to our clients. Your key role will include cleaning, preparing, and maintaining cabins - for our new guest arrivals - during a short guest turnover window. Additionally, you will participate in minor maintenance and property upkeep tasks as needed and assist with the transportation of supplies and luggage to our remote outposts via floatplane. Key Responsibilities

  • Cabin Cleaning & preparation: Clean all cabin areas for new guest arrival, including changing linens, cleaning bedrooms, living areas, bathrooms, and kitchen areas.
  • General labourer work & Maintenance: Participate in minor camp and equipment maintenance, landscaping, and general property upkeep.
  • Assistance with supplies and luggage transport: Help with loading and unloading various goods, being transported to the outpost by the floatplane.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside Dockhands and Pilots, for efficient loading and unloading of supplies, luggage, and equipment.
  • Travel Flexibility: Fly to various remote work locations as needed, to fulfill main responsibilities and assist with general laborer tasks.

Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry or care facilities, including housekeeping and environmental services preferred.
  • Familiarity with common housekeeping and maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Friendly approachable demeanor, with a focus on cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Basic proficiency in English (B1 level).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Hands-on experience with property upkeep (e.g., environmental services).
  • Willingness to regularly fly to different remote outposts via floatplane.

  • Accommodation: Living accommodation assistance in Red Lake is provided.
  • Seasonal Position: During the fishing and hunting season – May through October.
  • Location: Red Lake, (Northwestern) Ontario, Canada.
  • Travel: Frequent early morning flights to our various outposts within the region.

Experience will be reflected in hourly wage.
