Hunting in Ontario

We have outfitted moose hunters for more than 60 years. If you possess a valid hunting license, we will have a moose tag available for you. We hunt in Areas 1 C, 2 and 3. With a wide variety of locations and tags, we are able to tailor our hunts to suit you. Moose hunting is a major component of our business and we treat it seriously. Many groups return annually and others plan a trip every few years.

“Bull down on day 4”
Booked my first ever moose hunt with Black Moose Outposts in Septemeber 2022. Bull came in on a cow call on day four. You could hear him charging in from over a mile away, stepped out perfectly broadsided on 200 yards. Nice big bull with lots of meat, flew the quaters out the next morning, freezer is stacked.

How can I book a hunting trip with Black Moose Outposts?

Hunting trips are only available at a specific time of the year (mid-September to mid-October). These trips cannot be booked online. Please send us an inquiry by selecting the “Request” button for your preferred location. Alternatively, you can book by calling our office at +1 (807) 727 3461

What’s included in the price of a hunting trip with Black Moose Outposts?

All our hunting trips include:

  • Stay at the cabin – 8 nights
  • Flight from our base to the cabin and back (plus transport of moose)
  • Ontario Outdoors Card
  • Ontario hunting license
  • One bull/moose tag per hunter
  • 8-day conservation fishing license
  • Unlimited use of boats and gas
  • Bedding

Luxury hunts at Orono Lake and Critchell Lake include a hunting guide and a private chef.

What are the requirements for hunting in Ontario?
To get a moose tag, you need to be an accredited hunter in Ontario. Please provide the required documents to our staff, and our office manager will help you with the process. For more information, visit: Hunting licence (non-residents of Ontario) | ontario.ca
What happens after I booked my hunting trip?

After booking your hunting trip, we will contact you via email three weeks before your stay with all the relevant trip details. In this email, you’ll have the opportunity to preorder food and drinks, check your flight time, and provide participant information so we can arrange your licenses. It is very important that you’ll send us your hunting license for accreditation. If you have any questions before then, feel free to email or call us at any time.

Do you offer hunting guides?

Yes, we do offer hunting guide services for extra charge. Our luxury hunts (Orono Lake & Critchell Lake) already include guiding services in the price. Please contact our staff for more information.

Can I bring my own hunting equipment?

Yes, you bring all your own hunting equipment including your Rifle or Bow.
